• Launched in 2020 selling barbecue during the Covid lockdowns, before expanding into the full Black Betty BBQ restaurant, the Olde Saloon whiskey bar, the Peacock Lounge gig venue and a catering operation with around 20 staff.
• Owner and pitmaster Dan Meredith spent more than six years working across Wyoming and Colorado in trophy hunting lodges, learning authentic American barbecue. He says the feel, culture and discipline of U.S. barbecue were ingrained in him from the start, so he has stayed true and consistent to the American style.|
• The vibe is an eclectic mix of Texan rustic and 1950s vintage, giving it a classic BBQ shack off the freeway feel, built by family and mates
• Menu highlights include 8 hour smoked brisket, St Louis pork ribs glazed in their own BBQ sauce, and creative sides like jalapeño cornbread and mac and cheese with chorizo.
